Skiing isn't far away, either: The Arvenbüel family ski resort and its ski school can be reached by bus or car in a matter of minutes. The Mattstock ski resort, small but excellent, can even be reached on foot in a few minutes. The next bus stop (Amden, Brugg) is 450 m from the house. An outdoor parking space in front of the chalet is available free of charge. The idyllic vacation area of Amden Weesen above the emerald-blue Walensee and the exceptional mountain scenery have a lot to offer. Activities range from beaches, water sports, boat trips on the Walensee, varied hikes in summer and fall and the impressive Seerenbach Falls in spring to snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and skiing at the little family ski resort of Amden in winter. Our tip: take a hike to the Schafbett overlook with a breathtaking view of Lake Walen and the Glarus Alps. Several hiking trails lead to the cozy picnic spot at the overlook. Amden has a really convenient location. The region of Lake Zurich featuring the medieval town of Rapperswil as well as Zurich, Glarus and Chur can all be reached by car in less than an hour.
